May 16 - 24: B&O Railroad Museum Plein Air Paint Out and Competition
The B&O museum, known as the birthplace of American railroading, offers two centuries of history throughout a campus of an outdoor train yard and cavernous historic buildings. The word class collection includes 200 years of locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars and more.
Artists have free admission to paint on the grounds, indoor and outdoor. Hours of operation: 10am to 4pm M-S and Sunday 11a-4p
May 24: B&O public reception and awards at 1pm. Artists bring their easels to display one or two paintings for judging and sale.
There is an opportunity to hang paintings for sale in the gift shop after the event.
- Registration open to MAPAPA members only
- Cash prizes: 1st place: $75 / 2nd place: $50 / 3rd place: $25
- Entry Fee: $20.
- Sales through the Museum. 20% museum / 80% artist
