Event Title: Smallwood State Park Paint Out

When: Saturday, October 22, 2022,  Starting at 9:00 am  Critique at noon. Ending: No specific time.  The Art Center closes at 4:00 pm.  The park closes at dusk (approx. 6:18 pm)

Location: Smallwood State Park, 2750 Sweden Point Road, Marbury, MD 20658

Directions: Take Route 301 south to La Plata, to the west on Route 225 to Route 224. At the light at Route 224 turn left (south). The Park entrance is approximately 3 miles on the right.  From Route 210 south towards Indian Head, take a left (east) on Route 225 to Route 224. At the light at Route 224 turn right (south). The Park entrance is approximately 3 miles on the right.

Instructions/Notes: Upon entering Smallwood State Park, inform the person at the entry gate that you are going to the Mattawoman Creek Art Center so that your entry fee can be waived. Proceed to the Art Center and park at the Art Center parking lot.  Barbara Stepura will be at the Art Center to greet participants and suggest painting locations in the park.

Plan to bring your own lunch and meet together at the Art Center.  

Please note that a Revolutionary War reenactment/encampment will be held during the time of the paint out. This may provide subject matter for some who wish to do so.
